You know the person that always gasps or screams while your driving, regardless of the level of danger?

When it happens, remember who called it first.

Pan's Labyrinth

I went to see this movie last night, and let me tell you, it was the most thoroughly disappointing movie experience I've ever had. I went in expecting to see a creepy, frightening, and surreal fantasy horror picture, and came out having seen a war movie. This movie did not come anywhere close to it's hype, or reviews.

If you go in expecting the best fantasy horror movie of the past decde, then I strongly urge you not to go at all, as you will be incredibly disappointed.

#5 Obsession

I should probably be ashamed but I have an unabashed, nonsexual mancrush on the illustrious Zach Braff. Garden State was raw genius, and Scrubs is easily one of the best things on TV.

Google Earth as takeover blueprint?

Robert Cringely has an interesting and insightful take on Google's acquisition of dark fiber and their supposed intentions to control the internet. While his predictions are in the ballpark, I think he's a bit off when it comes to his assertion that the ISPs will have to lean on Google's new infrastructure to maintain profitability. I find it more likely that Google plans further service integration with YouTube, building data centers, and networks to deliver more content at higher speeds, and to be able to store all that content redundantly in multiple data centers around the country.

Then again Google may well also lease bandwidth to the ISPs.
